Airdrie United v Accies Preview

Accies make the short trip to North Lanarkshire on Saturday to play Airdrie United at Excelsior Stadium. Last week's home defeat by Dunfermline was very disappointing but there are unlikely to be too many changes to that team. One player who will not feature is young defender Lee Kilday, who joined Stenhousemuir on an emergency temporary transfer on Friday, for just over a month. This will be Accies' first game on an artificial surface for some time, although last week Billy Reid indicated that he did not think that this would be an issue for his team. That early season home defeat by the Diamonds in the Ramsdens Cup will still be fresh in the mind and this is a game that Accies will want to win for several reasons.

Airdrie lost out to Dumbarton in the play-off final but gained an unlikely promotion following the collapse of Rangers. The Airdrie website states that Cameron MacDonald, Sean Lynch and John Boyle are all unavailable, while Gavin Griffin is doubtful due to a broken hand and David Lilley is missing through suspension following his red card in the 3-2 loss to Morton last time out.
