Cowdenbeath V Accies Preview
Accies make the short trip to Fife on Saturday eager to get their first league win of the season. They were perhaps fortunate not to record a second consecutive defeat on Saturday, when Ali Crawford's late equaliser earned us a point against Morton. There will need to be a couple of changes to the Accies team for this game, with Alex Neil and Martin Canning unavailable through suspension and injury respectively. Alex's suspension will only cover this game, but Martin is likely to be out for around 4 weeks with soft tissue damage to his ankle. However, several of the fringe players had a run out in the under 20 game against Celtic on Tuesday, so players like Jordan Kirkpatrick and Lee Kilday could be involved against the Blue Brazil. Ziggy Gordon had a great game against Morton after replacing Canning and can be expected to be start this game.
Billy Reid boosted his squad on Friday with the capture of 20 year old striker James Keatings from Celtic on a season long loan and he'll be included in the squad for this game. (Picture courtesy of Celtic FC).
The Division 2 champions have had a mixed start to life in Division 1, with a nasty home defeat by neighbours Dunfermline followed up by a resounding 3-0 win at Dumbarton last weekend. Amongst the scorers on Saturday was Lewis Coult, who had a brief spell with Accies early in his career but has been a big success at Cowdenbeath after a spell in the juniors. Manager Colin Cameron was active in the transfer market this week, snapping up 22 year old English striker Zephaniah Thomas, who had spent last season in Belgium with Royal Racing Montegnee.
