It was a bad night for Accies when they went down 3-0 to Falkirk. Accies had been coping quite well but the game turned in the 55th minute when referee Crawford Allan gave a penalty kick and a red card against David Hutton for a foul on David Weatherston. Mark Millar scored from the spot, with debutant Blair Currie's first touch of the ball being to pick it out of the net. Millar doubled the lead a couple of minutes later and it was top scorer Farid El Alagui who completed the scoring with 10 minutes remaining.

HAMILTON slipped down to fifth place in the First Division as Falkirk ran out comfortable 3-0 winners on Tuesday.
The match hinged on a penalty handed to Falkirk 11 minutes into the second half, which also resulted in a straight red card for goalkeeper David Hutton. The Bairns didn't look back after that and added two more goals, although Accies had chances to get themselves right back into the game.
Falkirk nearly scored in the opening minute when Mark Millar's corner on the right reached Willie Gibson and his flashing volley was well parried by Hutton. In five minutes Millar played a short corner to Willie Gibson, whose chip flew past the right post. Accies started to get into the game after that, although Jon McShane was unlikely to trouble Michael McGovern with his lobbed effort from 40 yards in six minutes.
Two minutes later Jim McAlister's cross from the right was flicked just past the far post by Andy Ryan. Farid El Alagui went close for Falkirk from Kieran Duffie's cross in 18 minutes. Danny Redmond forced a good save from McGovern to beat out his drive in 26 minutes. Simon Mensing saw a 30-yard shot saved low by McGovern in 28 minutes.
Falkirk started the second half well and in 48 minutes Darren Dods' free-kick was knocked down to Murray Wallace and his shot was parried by Hutton, with El Alagui sending the rebound past. The game turned in Falkirk's favour in 56 minutes when Craig Sibbald found Jay Fulton and he released David Weatherston. Hutton flew off his line to meet him and looked to have got the ball, but when the Falkirk man went flying referee Crawford Allan pointed to the spot, and flashed a straight red card at the furious keeper.
Stephen Hendrie was sacrificed for back-up keeper Blair Currie to come on, but his first act was to pick the ball out of the net after Millar rammed home the spot-kick in 58 minutes. Two minutes later a good Falkirk move ended when Weatherston and El Alagui linked to set up Millar to side-foot past Currie.
After Jon McShane earned a corner in 64 minutes Danny Redmond's corner was met by a Mark McLaughlin header which was cleared off the line. Duffie released El Alagui in 67 minutes but he pulled his shot across the face of goal. Accies went close in 79 minutes when Mensing found Jon Routledge and he checked inside before sending a low shot inches past the right post.
But Falkirk put the result beyond doubt in 81 minutes when Duffie darted down the right and crossed for El Alagui to smash a powerful header into the net. Sub Greig Spence set up Routledge for a chance with four minutes left but his shot was brilliantly blocked on the line by a combination of McGovern and a couple of defenders. Craig Sibbald nearly added a fourth in the last minute but his shot curled away from the left post at the last second.
