Registrations Window Opens

A Happy 2012 to all Accies fans, sponsors and friends of the club.

It's been a busy morning at NDP with the opening of the January registrations window. The club have signed 17 year old goalkeeper Blair Currie on a standard temporary transfer from Rangers until the end of the season. Blair's older brother Dean was in our youth set up until a couple of seasons ago, and his father was a well known junior player. With both Tomas Cerny and now David Hutton injured, Blair goes into the squad for tomorrow's game at Dumfries, but it is expected that former Stirling 'keeper Scott Christie of Bo'ness United will be between the sticks for the second time.

Willie McLaren has been on an emergency loan with Airdrie United, which expires at midnight tonight, along with his Accies contract, but both have been cancelled this morning to allow him to sign properly for the Excelsior Stadium club. Our good wishes to Willie.

Matt Paterson's 'loan' from Southend United also expired today and he has returned to the Essex club, again he goes with our good wishes.

Midfielder Kevin McBride's short term deal with us expires this Tuesday, 3rd January, and it wont be renewed. Kevin reportedly has interest from a club abroad and he goes with our good wishes.

Forward Derek Lyle's contract expires next weekend and he too has not had his deal renewed and, after his second spell with us, Del goes with our best wishes.

Forward Gordon Smith's emergency loan from Hearts also expires this Tuesday but we remain in discussions with the Tynecastle club on this one.
