There have been a couple of changes to Accies arrangements and schedule this weekend, both of which occured late on Thursday. Accies will now base themselves some 20 miles from Hartlepool in plush surroundings for the weekend. Manager Billy Reid is delighted with the club's new base as we send two teams out on Saturday afternoon, one at Victoria Park against League One side Huddersfield Town (12noon) and the other against Billingham Synthonia at 3pm. Tickets for the Hartlepool tournament remain available from Hartlepool's ticket office www.hartlepoolunited.co.uk or on the day while it's cash at turnstiles at Billingham. On Sunday we shall face either hosts Hartlepool or Sunderland XI, kick off dependent on Saturday results. Prior to the final on Sunday there will be a fans mini competition with Mark Wilson, William Donnachie, Ewan McGregor, Jim Smith, Gordon Wiper and Stewart Latimer competing for us! Please give them a cheer. Accies will have a couple of trialists joining us for the four days together with a guest player courtesy of our friends at Reading. Meanwhile the kick off for Monday's match at Kingston Park has now been brought forward to 7pm for the game against Newcastle Blue Star. That will bring an end to our current busy spell of 7 games in 6 days. The Sunday Post will be covering the Huddersfield match while The Sun will have a reporter based with us for the weekend. |

Hamilton won 3-1 at Strathclyde Homes Stadium on Wednesday against Jim Chapman's well organised Dumbarton side. We went a goal up with a peach of a free kick in the 38th minute from Tony Stevenson (left), powerfully and skillfully sending the ball past former Accies youth keeper Mikey White who had come on as sub for the sons after an injury to Mark McGeown in 6 minutes. Derek Carcary scored a well worked equaliser two minutes before the break. James McCarthy fired us ahead with a lovely left foot drive in the 73rd minute and new signing Lucas Akins made it 3-1 in the 81st minute.
It was mainly Billy's top team squad out, missing a few through injury and knocks. The Manager was pleased with the victory and we lined up - Cerny, Stevenson, Easton, McCarthy (Kirkpatrick 74), Mensing, Trialist 1, Akins, McArthur, Offiong, Neil, Graham. Unused subs McAvoy, Gow, Mills, Collins, Trialist 2, Hall Next up is a visit for an Accies XI to Methil on Thursday to face an East Fife XI, kick off 7.30pm |
