Gilhaney, Davison Depart; Twigg available
Tuesday, 20 May 2008

Winger Mark Gilhaney, 23, was today transferred to Dundee after the clubs agreed a five figure transfer fee. Mark, who became a father on the last day of the season missed that match at Dens as a result, made 111 appearances for the club, netting 10 goals, since arriving from Clyde three years ago. Mark had attracted interest from clubs over the past fortnight and he goes with our best wishes.

Meanwhile fellow winger Kevin Davison, who had been on loan at both Berwick and East Fife during this season, has also been released from his contract and he has returned home to the Sunderland area. Forward Gary Twigg, who joined us from Oxford Utd in the January window, has been made available for transfer by the club.

Defender David Elebert captained the Republic of Ireland's u21 side when they lost 3-1 to Nigeria in Malaysia on Saturday. David said that he was very proud and honoured to skipper his country. David was in action again today as the Irish drew 0-0 in their final group game with Iraq. They now await other results to see if they qualify for the semi final on Friday.

Meanwhile two more of our players have been selected by the Republic of Ireland. Under 15 players Connor McGlinchey and Sean McGee have been called up by the Republic for a three team tournament in Belfast this week against Northern Ireland and Wales. Many congratulations to them.
