The league campaign is pushed to the side this weekend as Accies play Partick Thistle at Firhill in the 4th round of the William Hill Scottish Cup, kick off 3pm. This will be the first Scottish Cup tie meeting of the two teams since Allan Maitland's side was demolished 5-1 at a wintry Firhill in 2004. Clearly the league is the top priority for Accies but there's no doubting the appeal of a good run in this competition as well. The 4th round draw has ensured that at least 7 of the top 14 teams in the country will be eliminated at this stage, so a victory would be very welcome.

The good news is that gaffer Alex Neil has a full squad to choose from and has stated that he'll be putting out his strongest available team as usual. The two matches between the teams so far this season have been very exciting with last minute goals from Accies in both games and it would be great for a repeat of our win at Firhill earlier in the season, when Tony Andreu and Jason Scotland (left) grabbed the goals.

Thistle's form has been a bit patchy of late and they were defeated by Aberdeen last weekend. However, they recently defeated St Mirren at Paisley and came very close to beating us at NDP, so they will be very difficult opposition, especially on their own pitch.

Admission to the game is by cash at the turnstiles, with an adult price of £15 and £5 for under 16's, over 65's or people in full time education. The match will be refereed by Kevin Clancy. If the match is postponed or abandoned it will be played on Tuesday 9th December, 7.45pm at Firhill; if it's a draw it will be replayed on Tuesday 9th December, 7.45pm at NDP. Admission prices agreed by both clubs and reduced to: Adults £15; over 65s, under 16s and full time students (photo ID needed in all cases) £5.
